Beth & Max’s wedding at Glewstone Court Country House was one for the books – and not just because it was one of the hottest days of the year. The kind of heat where ice melts faster than you can drink it, buttonholes wilt before the ceremony starts, and everyone’s secretly hoping the next photo spot is in the shade!
A Bit About Glewstone Court
Glewstone Court is a Georgian country house tucked away in the Herefordshire countryside, not far from Ross-on-Wye. Dating back to the 18th century, it has a warmth and charm that feels more like being welcomed into someone’s home than stepping into a traditional wedding venue. The house is full of character, the gardens are made for those golden-hour portraits, and the views over the rolling hills are the kind that make you stop and just take it all in.

The morning kicked off in the bridal suite, where Beth was getting ready with her bridesmaids. Hair was in the talented hands of @october.hair, who worked their magic to keep styles looking perfect despite the sweltering heat – no small achievement on a day like this.
A Connection from Earlier in the Year
I’d already had the pleasure of photographing Beth & Max before the big day. Earlier in the year, we met up at Gwen and Vera’s Nature Reserve near Newent for their engagement shoot. It’s a beautiful spot – all wildflower meadows and winding paths – and it gave us a chance to chat, laugh, and get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding. Those photos ended up being a perfect prelude to what was to come.

The ceremony at Glewstone was heartfelt and full of personal touches. The sunlight streamed through the windows, giving everything a soft, golden glow. Guests fanned themselves with orders of service while smiling through every moment.

After the vows, we headed out into Glewstone’s grounds for photos. We worked fast – shade was precious – but the heat didn’t stop Beth & Max from beaming at each other. Those in-between moments, walking hand-in-hand or sharing a quiet smile, were some of my favourites of the day.
As the day went on, the energy stayed high with speeches full of laughter and more than a few tears.

Congratulations Beth & Max
Beth & Max, thank you for letting me be a part of such a special day (and for trusting me to keep finding the shade!). Here’s to a lifetime of adventures – hopefully with slightly cooler weather now and then.
